R&D Project – Clockwork

Hello everyone. 

In this video, I will be taking some distance with our project and explain the issues we met, talk about the help we received throughout the year and imagine what we could have done differently if we had to start over.  

Our project consists of implementing a preventive maintenance algorithm in Orange data mining. The goal is to predict future malfunctions by monitoring machinery using vibration sensors for example. The data given by the sensors can be analyzed to detect the failing component and determine its time to live.  

As beginners, we had to invest a lot of time in learning the basics and finding documentation, which slowed us down and wasted a lot of time, especially in the beginning. Fortunately, we had samples of code for a similar application given by our supervisor.  

There is still work to do and challenges to overcome. Meanwhile, enjoy the video!
