This video is a brief presentation of the S.M.E.C. project, it stands for : Sorting Machine for Electronics Components. Indeed, the goal of this project is designing a machine which is able to sort electronics components such like resistors, capacitors, selfs … SMEC is part of the first year of the master’s degree at the HELHa engineering school.
Three electronics students are involved into it : Tom DUBOIS, Yann JACQUES and Henri MEUREE. As explained in the video, the project is divided into 3 parts: electronic part (PCBs, sort of microcontroller, programming language…), mechanical part (material…) and scan part (the component is scanned to determine what kind of component it is). Each student has respectively his own part.
This video is also talking about the work methodology implemented to manage the project, and the different technical software, hardware used to develop the SMEC project.
